Unbelievable...

10th of may 2009 - 80 days away - I predict Xero.com will have between 6000 and 7000 .. and yes one of them is me..

Re: Xero - 2,200 customers, $1.4 million annualised revenue

Hi Tim,
Can you quote a source for that number? I am not aware of Xero making a customer number announcement since the 2,200 figure at 30 September 2008.

I agree that Australia could make or break Xero with the huge upside potential being in the larger UK market.

Sam

Re: Xero - 2,200 customers, $1.4 million annualised revenue

Hi Barry,
I am not sure how you have derived your projections but based on the assumptions in the post even if they did double their total subscribers to 6000 by May 2009 they would still be only half way to the estimated break-even point. This illustrates the limitations of focusing on percentage growth rates for early stage companies. It will be interesting to observe the level of uptake Xero obtains outside NZ over the next 12 months. I think the international potential of Xero will ultimately determine the return to early stage investors.

Thanks for the comment.

Now that www.Xero.com is a global product coming to the change over periods - it is probable that they could have more than double this number by 10-May 2009.

Xero is one of the most interesting businesses to follow here in NZ at the moment. It's a great start-up story and the transparency given due to its listing on the NZX makes it so easy to follow.

Will be interesting to see how many customers they haul in over the next change-over period (March- May)
